Set across 650 acres along the Tennessee River, Windy Hill Farm and Preserve reflects a long tradition of hospitality and stewardship. A place shaped by the land, where each experience unfolds with intention.
About Windy Hill Farm and Preserve
Our History
First cultivated by the Blair family in the early nineteenth century, this land carries a rich tradition of stewardship. Inspired by its natural beauty and sense of place, the George W. Sampson family established Windy Hill in 2001 as a working farm and gathering place where thoughtful hospitality and a deep respect for the land continue to guide each experience.
Our Founder
For Steven Brewington, childhood summers on the family farm instilled a deep appreciation for the land and its enduring legacy. After graduating from the University of Tennessee, he returned with a thoughtful vision for its future—one centered on stewardship, conservation, and the belief that meaningful places are shaped over time through care, purpose, and respect for those who came before.
Conservation
Before Windy Hill became what it is today, this landscape held a very different character.
Through years of thoughtful stewardship, restoration, and care, the land has been guided toward a more balanced and resilient future. Explore the ongoing work behind Windy Hill Farm and Preserve and the landscape that continues to evolve with each passing season.
Our Team
The people of Windy Hill are stewards of both the land and the guest experience. Through thoughtful care, collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose, our team helps bring the spirit of Windy Hill to life each day.
