Guests will receive a pre-stenciled 12”x12” canvas, making it easy to enjoy the process—no artistic experience required. With all materials provided, you’ll choose your colors and bring your pattern to life at your own pace.

Step into the world of honeybees with this immersive experience at Windy Hill’s apiary. Led by a member of our team, this guided session offers an up-close look at the inner workings of the hive and the vital role honeybees play in our ecosystem and agricultural practices.

You’ll learn about the lifecycle of the honeybee, the responsibilities of each member of the colony, and the seasonal rhythms that influence honey production. Along the way, you’ll explore the symbiotic relationship between pollinators and the land—from the wildflowers they forage to the herbs and vegetables they help bring to life across the farm.

Closed-toe shoes required. Protective gear is provided, and no prior experience is necessary.

Windy Hill’s Beer Hike invites guests to explore the art of brewing along our scenic woodland trails. This guided experience unfolds through a series of curated stops, where you’ll sample five distinctive beers—each selected to highlight a unique style, flavor profile, and brewing tradition.

Led by a knowledgeable member of our team, the hike blends storytelling, craftsmanship, and the natural beauty of the land. Guests will gain insight into the brewing process and the ingredients that shape each pour, all while enjoying the fresh air and camaraderie of the trail.

Thoughtful, engaging, and full of flavor, the Beer Hike offers a memorable way to experience Windy Hill—one step, and one sip, at a time.

Leisure bikes are included with your stay and offer an easygoing way to explore the farm at your own pace. Follow quiet roads and pathways to the gardens, the river and other favorite corners of the property. Bikes are available daily by request at the Front Desk.

Slow down and enjoy a touch of friendly competition with classic lawn games like cornhole or unwind indoors with a curated selection of board games. Available through the Front Desk and complimentary with your stay.

Create botanical prints using a monoprinting technique inspired by nature. Begin by foraging leaves, flowers, and natural elements from the property, then arrange them onto an inked surface to transfer their shape and texture onto paper.

Each impression captures the detail and variation of the materials used, resulting in a one-of-a-kind print. The process is intuitive and hands-on, producing artwork that reflects both the forms of the plants and the spontaneity of the moment.

Challenge your aim and enjoy the tradition of Southern sport with a round of five-stand sporting clays. Set in a scenic corner of the property, this guided experience offers a fun and approachable way to test your skills—whether you’re a seasoned shooter or a curious first-timer.

Each guest will take on a round of 25 clays from five distinct stations, each presenting varied angles and levels of difficulty. Join friends for a bit of friendly competition, or simply enjoy the rhythm and focus of the sport in a beautiful natural setting.

Guests are welcome to bring their own shotgun and shells or use equipment provided by our Activities Center. Safety instruction and guidance are included to ensure an enjoyable experience for all.

Explore more than five miles of self-guided trails winding through wooded paths, open fields and quiet stretches along the river.

Walk at your own pace, whether you begin the day with a peaceful morning stroll or set out to discover more of the farm. Along the way, native wildflowers, birdsong and sweeping views offer a closer look at the natural beauty of East Tennessee.

With access points throughout the property, the trails are easy to enjoy throughout your stay. Simply lace up your boots, step outside and see where the path leads.

Experience the farm from horseback with a private guided ride through Windy Hill’s scenic landscape.

Begin at the stables, where you’ll meet your guide and horses and learn the basics of grooming, saddling, and riding. Once everyone is comfortable, set out for an approximately one-hour ride through the property, taking in the natural beauty of East Tennessee along the way.

Whether you’re new to horseback riding or have spent years in the saddle, this experience offers a wonderful way to slow down and enjoy the farm from a different perspective.

Once developed and rinsed, the prints reveal rich blue tones with each form preserved in white. Each guest leaves with a one-of-a-kind piece shaped by the land and the moment.
